Macon Music Half Marathon

We are proud to announce the 2nd annual Macon Music Half Marathon to be held on November 16, 2024. It will start and end in Carolyn Crayton Park (Central City Park). The course will take you by locations showing the musical heritage of Macon including the Grand Opera House, the Big House, Little Richard’s home, Capricorn Studios, Otis Redding Foundation, and Mercer’s McDuffie Center for Strings as well as other historic and cultural sites.
New attractions include more music on the course, concert at the end, course changes to remove high traffic areas, and finishing at home plate of historic Luther Williams field!
The band A2Z will be playing at the finish line. Bands along the course will be Hughes Taylor at The Big House, a string ensemble at the McDuffie Center for Strings, and the Piedmont Church band at the entrance to Mercer along with other attractions along the course!
Please Note: No bikes, pets, or skates will be allowed on the race course. We request that participants pushing baby joggers or strollers use extreme caution so as to avoid injury to passengers and to your fellow athletes. Walkers are welcome. There is a 3.5-hour (16:00 min/mile) time limit for the course. No refunds or transfers are allowed.

Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will be held in Studio B of Capricorn Studios on Friday, November 15, from 2pm to 7pm and on the morning of the race at the race start beginning 1 hour before race time.
Capricorn is located at 530 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Macon. Parking is available in the area including the lot behind Visit Macon at 450 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Click here to link to this location on Google Maps.
Parking
Parking for the race is available in Carolyn Crayton Park. With the 2024 course, all participants should be able to park within CCP affording a short walk to and from the start/finish area. More details on parking will be published later. The map below will guide you to enter at the front or rear entrance.
Start Area Amenities
Carolyn Crayton Park features 3 buildings with heated/cooled restrooms, ample parking, playground for kids, and a skate park. Luther Williams field offers heated restrooms, ample check-in space, and seating for 2,600.
Awards
- Note: Awards must be claimed at the awards ceremony on race day. If you have won an award, or think you might have, and cannot stay for the awards ceremony, please ask someone to pick up your award.
- Awards will be given to the top 3 Overall, 1st Master (40+), 1st Grand Master (50+), 1st Great Grand Master (60+).
- Awards will be given to the top 3 in the following age groups: 10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.
- There will be no duplication of awards.
- Awards will be based on net time.
- Decisions by the race director are final.
Finisher Medal
Finishers will receive a commemorative finishers medal.
Commemorative Shirt
Participants will receive a wicking long-sleeve shirt while supplies last. Register by November 1 to guarantee a shirt in your size.
Course Description
Start Location and Time
The race starts at 8:00 a.m. in Carolyn Crayton Park (150 Willie Smokie Glover Dr, Macon, GA 31201) and finishes in the same location.
Aid Stations
There will be five stations along the race course at miles approximately 3.25, 6, 8, 9.5, and 11. Fluids will be available at the start/finish line and all aid stations. Restrooms at the start/finish line and porta-potties at stations 6 and 9.5.
