Speeding Bulletin

Macon Tracks speed workout group

Groups of runners have been getting together to do track workouts.  Have fun with friends and improve your race times, too.  Times and days vary, but usually there is a session Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm, currently at the Stratford track.  To receive e-mail notification of the next week's scheduled events, send an e-mail to Kerry Oedel.

We do different combinations of interval distances for a cumulative total of 3 miles of fast running.  Kids are welcome to join in.  We do a staggered start, and everyone runs at their own pace.  Pressure is low, encouragement is high.

Start training now and get ready for a new p.r. come race day!



Challenge of the Miles

It’s not too late!  For those of you who didn’t sign up at the MTRC meeting in February, this is a great way to motivate yourself to keep up with your training.  It’s simple—just sign up for the number of miles you want to challenge yourself to run this year, keep a log, and at the end of each month, send Elizabeth Jones your totals.  Cross-training counts, too.  Convert the number of minutes of cross-training to the number of miles you could have run during that time.  Kids are welcome to sign up, too. 

Prizes will be awarded at the end of the year.  Last year the prizes were gift certificates to Run Fit Sports.  I don’t know about you, but for shoe-a-holics like myself, that’s a great reason to get out and run!
