Macon, 7:45 5K, 8:15 10K, 9:15 am Fun Run

This annual Macon Labor Day tradition features a fast point-to-point course, gender-specific wicking shirts, and a family-friendly atmosphere.  For even more fun, enter the Parent/Child, Husband/Wife, or Team of 5 competition.  Use your 10K time as a Peachtree Road Race qualifier for next year.  Walkers are welcome to do the 5K.  This is a Macon Tracks Piedmont Sports Medicine Series Race and also part of the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix.

Macon, 9:00 am

Directed by Elizabeth and Tom Jones, proceeds benefit Camp Little Shot, a free camp for children with diabetes.  The awards are made by the children at camp and are always creative. Part of the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix and the Macon Tracks Piedmont Sports Medicine Race Series.

Joshua's Run/Walk
Macon, 9 am - 1 pm

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.  The Joshua's Run/Walk will be held on the beautiful campus of Mercer Law School.  This 1st annual event will consist of a 1, 2, or 3 mile non-competitive run/walk.  The proceeds will benefit Jay’s Hope Foundation. Jay’s Hope is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to families of children with cancer.  During the opening ceremony, there will be a balloon release in memory of Joshua Trent Solomon and all children who have passed away from childhood cancer.   Opening ceremonies begin at 8:45 AM. There will be food, drink, Thomas the Train Story Time, Confetti the Clown, Party Play Ground’s Trackless Train Rides , door prizes, face-painting, balloon art, bouncers & more.
Sept. 11th (evening)
Run/Walk for Hope 5K & 1-mile
Dublin, 1-mile at 7 pm, 5K at 8 pm

Now with online registration.  This 5th annual 5K run/walk will feature a candlelight finish with 350+ candles in support of those recovering from drug and alcohol abuse.  The course will be a double loop on pavement totally off road inside Southern Pines Sports Complex in Dublin.  Prior to the race there will be a 9/11 Commemoration at 3:00 pm and Family Fun Day from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with free hamburgers and hotdogs, splash pad park, water slide, jumpy houses, clowns, face painting, volleyball, continuous music from area bands, and much more.  Race registration is $15 before Sept. 3rd and includes admission to the Family Fun Day activities.  

Sept. 18th
Run to Give 5K, 10K, & Fun Run
Macon, 5K & 10K at 8:00 am, Fun Run at 8:30

This race begins at the Northway Church on Zebulon Road.  All proceeds benefit families affected by medical illness.  There will be free childcare for all race participants and a free kids' festival with large inflatables, face painting, games, & concessions.  $15 if you register before Sept. 11th.  Part of the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix.
Sept. 22-25

Georgia Golden Olympics
Warner Robins

This competition is open to ages 50 and older and is a qualifier for the 2011 National Senior.  Events include track and field, 5Ks (run, walk, and race walk), swimming, cycling, and more.  Medals are awarded for each age category.
Sept. 25th

All About Animals Rescue Run 5K
Macon, 8:30 a.m.

Proceeds from the race will help fund a new shelter for All About Animals Rescue, a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located in Macon.  The race will be held at Mt. Zion Church on Rivoli and will use the Run4Missions course.  Awards to top age group finishers only.
Sept. 25th

American Diabetes Association logo
Diabetes Awareness 5K & 1-mile
Macon, 5K at 9:00 a.m., 1-mile fun run at 9:45

New Hope International along with the Juanita June Foundation will be hosting this first annual event.  There will be refreshments and inflatables for the kids.  Awards to 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall runners only.  Registration is $30.

Oct. 2nd
City of Gordon Fall Line Festival 5K

5K starts at 8am, Fun Run afterward.

Stay after the run and enjoy free entertainment, a classic car show, arts & crafts, antique tractor events, activities for kids, food, and free birthday cake.  This is a Run & See Georgia Grand Prix race and part of the Macon Tracks Piedmont Sports Medicine Race Series.  $15 if you register before Sept. 17th.
Oct. 2nd
Ocmulgee Adventure Race
Uptown Rotary Ocmulgee Adventure Race
Macon, 7:00 am - 8:30 am Check in

Note the new date!  The Uptown Rotary Ocmulgee Adventure Race (U-ROAR) will now be a 6-hour race, challenging both beginners and elites.  The race will feature paddling, mountain biking, river swimming, and hiking/trekking with navigation throughout.   You may race in teams of 2, 3, or 4, but only co-ed teams of 3 will be eligible for prize money.  Proceeds go to the Mentor's Project, Ocmulgee Heritage Trail and other charities.  Get your team ready and go find those checkpoints!

Milledgeville, 8:00 5K, 9:00 10.5K

Macon Tracks member Bonnie Murphey is organizing this 2nd annual race to benefit Baldwin County Solicitor General's "S.A.F.E. Program" for domestic violence awareness.    There will be door prizes, music, awards for the high school and college with the most participation, and gift bags for overall and masters winners.   Part of the Macon Tracks Piedmont Sports Medicine Race Series and the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix.

Oct. 9th Sam I Am 5K & 1-mile
Perry, 5K at 8:30 am, 1-mile at 8:45 am

$100 prize to 1st overall male and female.  The course is the same as the Dogwood Festival 5K.  Proceeds will go to the family of Sam Kinnas in Houston, Texas to offset costs related to his cancer treatments.  Run the race in the morning then stay for the Georgia National Fair.

Hearts Like Hannah 5K & Fun Run
Warner Robins

Hearts Like Hannah is a volunteer fundraising organization which provides financial assistance to Middle GA families seeking to adopt a child.  The team or organization with the most participants will receive $100 donation to their organization or charity of choice.
Oct. 23rd
Race for the Cure logo
Race for the Cure 5K Run/Walk & 1-Mile Walk
Macon, 9:00 am

The race will be held at Central City Park.  Up to 75% of the net proceeds from the race will remain in Central Georgia to fund local breast cancer projects for the medically underserved.  The remaining 25% supports the Komen Foundation Award and Research Grant Program.
Oct. 30th

Macon, Fun Run at 8:00 a.m., 5K at 8:30 a.m.

This year the race will be held at Bass Pro Shops.  Runners of all ages are encouraged to run in costume.  All dressed-up runners will be entered in a special raffle and prizes will be awarded to the most creatively dressed runners.  Proceeds benefit the Jay’s Hope Foundation, helping families with children who have cancer.  The Jay's Hope race is a Macon Tracks Piedmont Sports Medicine Series Race and also part of the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix.  Stay for the Family Fun Festival afterward from 9 am - 1 pm.

Nov. 6th
Hog Jog 5K & 1-mile
Vienna, 1-mile at 8:00, 5K at 8:30

The race starts at Dooly County High School and proceeds benefit Dooly County 4-H.  After the race, stay and enjoy the Big Pig Jig Parade and shops in downtown Vienna.  Part of the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix.
Nov. 6th


1st Annual AFJROTC Run for Veterans 5K Road Race
Kathleen, 8:00 a.m.

The Robins Pacers are helping to organize this race, which will start and end at Veterans High School, Houston County's newest high school.  Proceeds will benefit the 1st Squadron, 108th Cavalry Fallen Soldier Memorial Fund and the EOD Memorial Fund.  Long sleeved t-shirts while supplies last or there is a $12 no shirt option.

Run through the Ocmulgee National Monument Indian Mounds on a scenic, cross-country course.  Enjoy racing through the woods like the Mississipian Indians did thousands of years ago.  Proceeds benefit Peacemakers, an organization that teaches life skills to children ages 8-13.  Only $40 for a family of 4 if you register before October 30th.  Go to www.pbwm.org for more information.  Part of the Macon Tracks Piedmont Sports Medicine Race Series and the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix.
